So, it's time for the reveal for the_lj_reboot. I had signed up for the reboot a long time ago, but honestly didn't believe that I was going to participate. After all, it is the last hectic week of school. Then, about a week ago, I decided to redo my layout because I really loved the Grey's Anatomy finale and I wanted to have a layout based on the Mer/Der scene.

My major difficulty in that came from trying to lighten/brighten the terribly dark images. After a while, I just gave up. I wanted a more summer-y type layout anyways, and I love Addison. Kate Walsh has such interesting expressions, and I wanted to utilize that. The line on the header is from Funny Girl, because the movie just randomly popped into my head when I was attempting to think of something to write.

I always wanted to do a really fancy layout like one would get by following the tutorials in the_lj_reboot to the letter, but with such little time, I decided to base my layout on faceon's tutorials for generator. It was easy to use and I really think it turned out very attractively. I had no major problems at all.

My main worry is how this looks in other browsers. Internet Explorer tends to be all wonky and frankly, sucks in many cases. So if this looks really messed up and different from the screencap on the_lj_reboot, please tell me!

I'm going to participate in the_lj_reboot damnit.
I'm working on the layout now, so that is why I'm plain and boring and default.
Or rather, I'm trying to find pics/inspiration. I've decided on something Grey's Anatomy because the finale rocked (unlike LOST *cough*), but Mer/Der or cute Addison/Kate Walsh? I'm assuming option two would be easier than dark sex pictures. You know what? Making graphics takes a really long time and in general, pisses me off. Whatever.

I think I'm going to go semi-friends only instead. And I wanna figure out tags. I crave organization. Help anyone?

Today I went to my aunt Janice's house to make Pierogi. We are Polish, sorta, and it's tradition in our family to eat Sourkraut Pierogi on Christmas Eve. For those of you who do not know what Pierogi are, well, they are kind of like Polish dumplings. You can fill them with just about anything, but most are made with sourkraut, potatoes and cheese, mushrooms, meat, plums, cherries...anything. Well, since my family is a sad sad family who doesn't give a shit about anything, Janice and I have been making the pierogi for a couple of years. It's quite time consuming, but it really matters to me. Jesus and all that crap, no, but the family tradition, of something of memory before the real world hit me, is important.

Then, I got home. I don't know why, but I felt like branching out. I never read Harry Potter fic, because well, I think most of the pairings are ridiculous, and almost the idea of pairing people from a children's book bothered me. But I felt like trying, and I did, and oh wow. I've read some amazing stuff tonight. This one, I approached with such caution, but man, it was amazing. I'm all quivery. Go read. Roundabout
